How it all began

Like many parents, I found the toilet learning stage (and parenting in general) came with plenty of advice and opinions about how things should be done.

At times, it was easy to wonder whether we were “doing it right”, when what I really wanted was to support my child in a way that worked for them.

As we navigated toilet learning, I found myself switching between training underwear at home and disposable pull-ups whenever we headed out - which didn't feel good for him or the planet. I wished there was something that offered more consistency while still giving us the confidence to get out and about without worrying about little accidents.

When my second child came along and she had sensitive skin, finding training pants that were kinder on delicate skin became even more important.

Going through the journey a second time reminded me that every child learns in their own way and in their own time. The more I learned to trust my child, and myself, the less stressful and more empowering the experience became for both of us.

That became the ethos behind Gogo Shorties.

So I set out to create training pants that felt comfortable for children, practical for parents, and supported a more child-led approach to toilet learning.

Five years in the making

What started as an idea soon became a five-year journey.

Between nap times, family life and countless days spent at the dining room table or behind the sewing machine, I researched fabrics, refined designs and tested prototype after prototype, with my youngest kindly helping to put each new version through its paces.

What we stand for

From the beginning, I wanted Gogo Shorties to be about more than just the training pants themselves.

I wanted every decision to feel thoughtful—from the fabrics, to the people who make them.

That's why we've carefully selected materials that prioritise comfort and quality, and partnered with people who genuinely care about craftsmanship and doing things well.

We're proud to work with Purnaa, a social enterprise with a mission to create jobs that empower marginalised people, to fresh starts and fulfilled lives.
