Looking after your Gogo Shorties
A little extra care goes a long way
Gogo Shorties are designed to be washed, worn and loved again and again.
Because they're made from a blend of merino wool, TENCEL™ Lyocell and other carefully chosen materials, a little extra care will help them stay soft, comfortable and performing at their best throughout the toilet learning journey.
Don't worry, it's easy once you know the basics.
Caring for your Gogos
Pre-wash before first use
We recommend washing your training pants before they're worn for the first time.
This helps prepare the absorbent layers for use and ensures they're fresh and ready for the adventures ahead.
Caring for your Gogo Shorties after they've been worn.
After a wee
If they are wet with urine only, there's no need to rinse them first. Simply place them in a well-ventilated laundry basket or other breathable container until wash day.
After a poo
If they become soiled:
- Tip any solids into the toilet.
- Rinse away any remaining residue with cold water as soon as practical.
- Gently squeeze out any excess water.
- Place them in a well-ventilated laundry basket or other breathable container until washing.
A little note: We don't recommend soaking your training pants. Storing them in a breathable container and washing them as part of your next laundry load is kinder to the fabrics. Prolonged soaking can shorten the life of the materials and create an environment where bacteria can multiply. Regular washing is all they need to stay fresh and ready for their next adventure.
Washing
To help your Gogo Shorties last their best:
- Remove any Booster Pad Inserts before washing.
- Leave the side snaps undone for a deeper, more thorough wash.
- Cold or warm gentle machine wash with like colours (maximum 30°C).
- Use a wool-friendly or a mild enzyme-free detergent.
- Do not bleach or use fabric softeners.
Drying
For everyday care, flat dry your Gogo Shorties in the shade.
Avoid:
- Tumble drying.
- Direct high heat.
- Ironing.
- Dry cleaning
High temperatures can shorten the life of both the merino-blend fabrics and the waterproof layer.
Caring for Stains
Toilet learning can be a little messy from time to time, and that's all part of the journey.
For the best chance of preventing stains, rinse away any residue with cold water as soon as practical and wash as part of your next laundry load—ideally within 24–48 hours of use.
If a faint stain remains after washing, a little time in the sun can help naturally fade many stains. While we recommend drying in the shade for everyday care, occasional sunlight exposure to help lift stains won't harm the fabrics.
Thanks to the natural odour-resistant properties of merino wool, your training pants are also less likely to retain lingering odours between washes. Simply follow the care instructions and they'll stay fresh and ready for their next adventure.
Avoid using bleach or harsh stain removers, as these can damage the merino fibres and waterproof layer.
With a little gentle care, your Gogo Shorties training pants will stay soft, comfortable and ready to support your confident little learner wash after wash.
FAQs
Can I wash them with other clothes?
Yes. Wash them on a gentle cycle with similar colours. We recommend removing any inserts and leaving the side snaps undone so both the training pants and inserts can be cleaned thoroughly.
Can I use regular laundry detergent?
We recommend using a wool-friendly or mild enzyme-free detergent to help protect the merino fibres and extend the life of your training pants.
Do they need lanolising?
No. They have a thin built-in waterproof layer, so there's no need to lanolise them.
Will they shrink?
Like any garment containing merino wool, some natural relaxation or slight shrinkage can occur over time if exposed to high temperatures. Following the care instructions and avoiding tumble drying will help your training pants keep their shape and fit for longer.
